conquer EVERY circumstance!
Ephesians 6:10, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth...

The whole armour of God is the character of God; it's what makes God, God.  He does not sit on His throne in heaven wearing a breastplate, nor shoes, nor a helmet, nor a shield.  Paul is comparing a soldier's armour with God's character and basically saying if we walk in the light of truth, salvation, good news, and righteousness we will be like Him in the earth.  As He is in heaven, so will we be on earth.  We will walk in total victory all the time, in every season of life and in all circumstances.

I don't know any creature in this earth that does not have some type of armour or protective gear.  The turtle has its hard back; the skunk has its odor, the sea urchin has its spines.  An armour can work offensively as well as defensively.

I love the story of David and Goliath.  Goliath has an armour that can be seen but David's armour cannot be seen.  Goliath was over 9 feet tall.  The weight of his coat (breast protective gear was 125 pounds).  David didn't have a breastplate; he didn't have a helmet.  He wasn't equipped like Goliath but he did indeed have on his armour.  David's armour was his confidence and experience in God.   When the Israelites saw Goliath they ran; when David heard and saw him, he asked what would be given to the person that killed Goliath, the enemy.  When David stood before the king, Saul, he rehearsed what God had done for him.  He said, "The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine (1 Samuel 17:37)."

David told Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:46-17, "this day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand...and all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear:  for the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into our hands."

We learn many things from Ephesians 6:10-14.  Below are some things:

  1. To be strong in the Lord you have to put on the armour (nature) of God.
  2. This is what gives you the ability to stand (be fixed, established) against the deceit, trickery of the devil.
  3. When you are strong in the Lord, you are weak in yourself.  In the day of trouble strength comes from relying on His nature.  His nature is power.
  4. The whole armour of God or the character of God gives you the ability to set yourself against the evil day.  Evil day is basically the day of bad news, bad things.
  5. The evil day is from the devil; it will come but  know he is defeated. He's trying to wiggle his way from under your feet.

GOD CAN'T FAIL; NEITHER CAN YOU.  YOU ARE HIS SEED.  YOU ARE HIS OFFSPRING.

Even though the devil tries to pop his head up and act like a roaring lion, he is still defeated.  He's acting and he's a good actor.  He's not a lion.  There's one lion, the lion of the tribe of Judah and you are born of Him.    Jesus is the King and  "where the word of the king is, there is power and who may say unto him, what are you doing?"  You are His seed.  If He is the King, then who are you?  We are offsprings of the King with the authority of the King.

If today is your evil day, as an offspring of the most high God, you are destined to win.  It was written in the annals of history that you win.  Just walk through dressed in God's nature and see it happen.  This battle you will not have to fight.  He's fought it and won it for you.  You are destined to stand firm, be established and conquer every  circumstance in the evil day.
